I thought I would post some travel options, for your information. If something you need is not covered, let us know and we will add it to the list!
- BC Ferries — homepage
- BC Ferries — Southern Gulf Islands schedules
- seaplane (Van - Pender)
- airport shuttle (Victoria)
- airport shuttle (Vancouver)
- Victoria buses
- Vancouver public transit
Some advice on ferries:
If you are flying into Vancouver, you have options. You can take a ferry from Vancouver directly to Pender Island, but this only happens twice a day (early in the morning and late at night). You will have better luck if you go from Vancouver to Victoria and then “do the turn-around” and take the ferry from Victoria to Pender. Van to Vic ferries run every hour on the hour at that time of year, and there are several ferries from Victoria to Pender per day, depending on which day you choose to go. It’s probably a good idea to get a reservation on the Van to Vic or Van to Pender ferry, but remember that a reservation DOES NOT guarantee you a spot on the ferry! See the BC Ferries webpage for more information.
We look forward to seeing you here!

This may be useful for anyone who isn’t taking a car to Pender Island.
I checked out a taxi website link on the the Victoria Airport website. you can take a taxi from the airport to the ferry for around $20. I figure that’s the easiest way to get to the ferry station. The price isn’t bad either.
